{"id":66,"date":"2008-05-09T11:31:14","date_gmt":"2008-05-09T10:31:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/notes.hapke.de\/?p=66"},"modified":"2011-07-24T08:01:31","modified_gmt":"2011-07-24T07:01:31","slug":"ostwald-and-the-russian-avantgarde-art-movement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/notes.hapke.de\/art\/ostwald-and-the-russian-avantgarde-art-movement\/","title":{"rendered":"Ostwald and the Russian Avantgarde art movement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ostwald&#8217;s energetics influenced the thinking of the Russian Marxist <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Alexander_Bogdanov\">Alexander Bogdanov<\/a> (1873-1928) and his color theory the art of the Russian Avantgarde after the Revolution (e.g. <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kazimir_Malevich\">Kazimir Malevich<\/a>). Bogdanov himself developed also a theory of organisation which he called Tektology what he viewed as a new universal science (1922). For Bogdanov knowledge had to be seen as the organisation of experience.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Bogdanov tried, with modifications, to extent Ostwald&#8217;s project of conceiving everything in the terms of the transformation of energy.
